Community Partnerships
When a new member showed up to the Clubhouse in the midst of a housing crisis, we called on our relationships with Community Action Services & Food Bank to obtain a hotel voucher, used resources from Mountainlands Community Housing to help him navigate housing waitlists, and referred him to our friends at the Christian Center Counseling Center for treatment. Through the Clubhouse work-ordered-day, Josh has helped install a commercial refrigerator donated by Waste Less Utah and helped plan the Clubhouse's re-siding project, which was managed in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch County.
Nonprofit social service providers are always stronger together. We are grateful for the partnerships that help us improve outcomes for those living with mental illness.
Clubhouse Improvements
PARK CITY, UTAH (September 24, 2025) – Employees from Big-D Signature partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Summit & Wasatch Counties and the Summit County Clubhouse for two days of service, completing essential exterior improvements for a facility that provides vital resources to individuals impacted by mental illness.
Across four volunteer shifts held September 22–23, more than 40 Big-D Signature team members contributed nearly 160 hours of work. Volunteers installed new LP SmartSide siding, caulked, and painted the exterior of the Clubhouse, located at 6304 Highland Drive in Park City, enhancing both the longevity and visual appeal of the building.
This collaboration reflects Big-D Signature’s ongoing commitment to building stronger communities. Earlier this year, Big-D Construction named Habitat for Humanity its official nonprofit partner across all company locations. For the Park City team, the Summit County Clubhouse project represented a chance to bring that partnership close to home—supporting a local organization dedicated to connection, belonging, and recovery for community members navigating mental health challenges.
Dick Whitney, Vice President, Big-D Signature:
“Big-D Signature is committed to the ongoing support of our local community. We were excited to have been an integral part of the original remodel of the Summit County Clubhouse and were honored to once again partner with Habitat for Humanity to assist with the new siding of the building. Our team found both fun and fulfillment in using our hands to better our community through this project. Thank you to everyone who made it happen.”
Jen O’Brien, Executive Director, Summit County Clubhouse:
“A project like this would have required a major fundraising effort for our small team. Habitat for Humanity and Big-D Signature gave us such a gift by taking on the work—allowing our staff to stay focused on what we do best: supporting our members. The new siding not only protects the building but also gives our members a renewed sense of pride in their space.”
Shellie Barrus, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity of Summit & Wasatch Counties:
“Volunteer days like this show what collaboration can achieve. The teamwork between Serve Park City volunteers, Big-D Signature, and Habitat turned a big project into a shared accomplishment. Watching everyone come together with a common purpose was truly inspiring.”
The Summit County Clubhouse serves individuals across Summit County who are affected by mental illness or substance use challenges. The building’s refreshed exterior will ensure a safe, dignified, and welcoming environment for members to gather, work, and rebuild their lives.
This project is one of several “Here for Good” community initiatives taking place across Big-D offices nationwide—a campaign rooted in the company’s belief that great builders do more than construct buildings; they strengthen the communities where they live and work.
