What is a clubhouse?
The Clubhouse is an international, evidence-based program supporting adults with mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use disorder, PTSD and other clinical diagnoses. We believe medication and therapy are important, but not always enough to address the devastating effects of mental illness and substance abuse disorder.
Since 2019, Summit County Clubhouse has been proving that people with a diagnosed mental illness can and do lead connected and satisfying lives when treated with respect, dignity and understanding. We recently received conditional accreditation status with Clubhouse International, having undergone a rigorous process that scrutinized all levels of our organization. This is a strong testament to the high standards we expect of ourselves to best serve our members. We are honored to have achieved this status. In particular, the accreditation report called out strengths such as current leadership, a dedicated board of directors, our growth and a robust employment program that underscores the importance of work-based recovery.
The Clubhouse is about possibility--now and for the future. See our member achievements in our Impact Report.
